FAQ

Q. If I leave the club do I get my $500 deposit back?

A. Yes, any balance on your account will be returned in full at the termination of your membership.

Q. What if I am a club member that pays a monthly fee, and I am not able to fly at all in a given month, do I still need to pay?

A. Yes. As a club member you are required to pay the monthly fee every month, regardless of how often you fly. This monthly fee helps to pay the fixed costs such as the hanger fee, insurance, the annual inspection, and monthly payments on the airplane. However, we know that things can get busy and you just might not have time to fly. So as a benefit, Dream Flight club provides a refund with the following details:
1 month each year if you do not fly, you will get 50% of that months fee refunded. (however, if you do not fly at all in two months in a given year there is no refund for the second month. The benefit reward is only given once per calendar year.)

Q. I am thinking about joining, but I would like more information and I would like to test fly the aircraft. Do you offer any introductory rate for this purpose?

A. Yes. Part of the aircraft checkout can be done prior to joining. The first part of the checkout (going over Dream Flight procedures) is FREE and can be scheduled prior to joining. The second part of the checkout process (the flight) can only be done once you have joined and the cost is: $79/hr (airplane rental) and $40/hr (instructor).
You may also schedule a time to meet with the owner of Dream Flight to discuss the club membership and to view the aircraft and aircraft documents at no cost. You may also fly the aircraft with a designated instructor for 1 hour prior to joining at an introductory rate of $89/hr (airplane rental) and $40/hr (instructor). (This time may reduce the time needed for the aircraft checkout)

Q. How far in advance should I reserve the airplane?

A. In general you should try to book at least 10 days in advance. To help keep the costs down for flight club members dream flight has opened the aircraft up to Brett Aviation to rent, but they can only book the airplane 10 days in advance. There is no limit to how far in advance a dream flicht club member can reserve the airplane. Please see the flight rules and standard operating procedures for a list of reservation limits.

Q. Will I get the fee charged for membership back if I leave the club?

A. No. The one time joining fee charged for the club memberships is non refundable. The only exception to this is through our 60 day guarantee. If you are not happy with your membership within your first 60 days of joining you may cancel and be refunded 50% of your joining fee. The monthly fees for club memberships are due each month and are also non refundable. If a monthly payment is late, the amount is deducted from any account balance you may have. You will not be able to schedule or fly any aircraft without at least $500 in your account.

Q. What coverage do I have as a aircraft renter from Dream Flight if I were to have an accident causing damage to the aircraft?

A. Dream Flight has insurance to cover the aircraft from damage caused by pilots renting the aircraft. The deductable for this coverage is $500. This $500 deductible is the responsibility of the renter to pay. All pilots renting aircraft from Dream Flight are required to have an account balance of at least $500 as to cover this amount.

Q. Do I have to join a club membership in order to rent an aircraft from Dream Flight?

A. No, non-members may rent the aircraft only up to 10 days in advance through Brett Aviation (Brett Aviation rental rates and fees apply). In general if you will be flying 4 hours or more a month, then joining Dream Flight will save you money.

Q. Is there a checkout procedure to rent the aircraft?

A. Yes. In order to schedule and fly a Dream Flight aircraft, you must have completed a checkout flight with a flight instructor designated by the President. The checkout flight will cost aproximately $200 (depending on how long the flight is). The cost is: $79/hr(airplane rental) + $40/hr(instructor fee). The checkout flight will usually be conducted in one session broken up into 2 parts. The first part is to help introduce the renting pilot to Dream Flight and its rules and procedures and to make sure the renting pilot is familiar with the aircraft. We will provide the renting pilot details on how to schedule the plane, get the keys, and go over all the rules. The second part is a flight with the instructor to verify that you are safe to fly the aircraft. After return to the home airport proper shutdown procedures and instructions on returning the keys will be discussed.

Q. If I have been checked out, and I have rented a plane from Dream Flight before, but it has been awhile since I have flown, do I need to have another checkout flight?

A. Yes. If you have not flown a particular model airplane at Dream Flight in over 90 days (3months) you will be required to have a checkout flight before flying the aircraft again.
